Where Do You Live?

Exeter

Do you have a Partner. Children, or any pets?

I have a Fiancé and we have a little boy, Olly Jay, who is 2.

How did you get into your business?

I met Kelly in my previous job 10 years ago and expressed to her that I would like a change and property was always something I was interested in.

Can you tell us a bit about your business?

We originally started out as Clear Lettings in 2007. The business grew and we dealt solely with residential and student lets, until Kelly wanted to venture back into the sales market, which is where Kelly’s passion for estate agency began. We are now located within the prestigious location of Southernhay in Exeter and are one of the leading agents for sales, lettings and students in the City.

What is the one object that you couldn’t live without?

My phone! As a busy working Mum, I rely on it a lot.

How would you describe yourself?

I would like to think others find me quite a bubbly person, I hate being negative and try to find the positives in both personal and work life. I would say I am very loyal and trustworthy and I feel my team know they can always come and talk to me about anything.

Why do you think people should come to live in Exeter and what is one piece of advice that you would give before they moved?

Exeter has so much to offer!  As far as jobs go, there is a great variety and the University and Hospital bring a lot of job opportunities to Exeter. You are only ever a short drive, or sometimes bike ride, to our beautiful coastal regions and you can also access the M5 very easily, from either side of the City. We are spoilt for choice with bars and restaurants and our public transport allows people to travel around the City without the use of a car. The only advice that I would offer, would be to really consider what you want from the move; is it schools, being in the best place for a family, or jobs, as different parts of the City will suit different needs.

What is your favourite, fun thing to do in Exeter?

We love the beaches and most weekends we will go for a family walk along Exmouth or Dawlish. Budleigh Beach is our favourite and this is where my Fiancé proposed to me, so it’s a very special place to us.

What is your greatest strength?

Listening- I don’t mind if someone wants to call me in the middle of the night, I am always here to listen to someone who needs me.

What is your biggest weakness?

Not saying NO!

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?

Check social media (GUILTY!)

Favourite holiday destination?

Portugal…We have been once and are going again next year.

What is your favourite book or movie?

I am one of the most girlish girls you will meet…So I love any type of romcom movie and my favourite books were Confessions of a Shopaholic or P.S I Love You.

What is your favourite cuisine?

Italian -We have pasta most nights in our house.

If you could choose anyone in the world to have a dinner date with, who would
you choose?

The cheeky chappy that is Olly Murs.

What is a highlight that you have achieved in your business?

When I first started with Clear Property we were a small business and maybe not as widely known as other agents. Now when I say who I work for, people know who we are and have seen our boards. This just shows how far we have come over the years and which is why we are now winning awards! I have also worked my way up from a negotiator to the lettings manager and that is a personal highlight.

What do you do to relax in the evening or on a weekend?

Have a bath and catch up on junk TV- We love dramas and there is always something to get stuck into.

Do you have a favourite ‘Life Hack’?

Roll items of clothes up when packing, they stay crease free and you can fit double the items in (I always take too much on holiday!)

If you unexpectedly had 15 minutes become free in your day, what would you do
with the time?

Sit with a coffee and read a magazine, I never get to do this anymore and it’s the simple things you miss being a Mum.

Do you have a favourite quote?

The only reason you should look back is to see how far you have come.

What gives you energy?

Coffee and chocolate.

What is your favourite mode of transport?

Car-Annoying when you’re stuck in traffic but I put on my favourite songs and have a sing along in the car (I do get a few funny looks at the lights).

If you could choose a super power, what would that be?

To become invisible! How amazing would it be to sneak in and no one knows you’re there!
