Devon & Cornwall Shortlist Announced for Outstanding Care Awards

The shortlist for the Outstanding Care Awards for Devon and Cornwall has been announced, with nominees from across the care sector set to be honoured at the ceremony on 8th June.

Launched in February by Kelly Harper and Kat Green, Founders and Partners of the South West based Care Network Group, the awards showcase and celebrate the exceptional individuals and organisations dedicated to caring for many of the region’s most vulnerable people.

Devon County Council, Torbay Council and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust are amongst the organisations backing the initiative.

Kat Green, Co-Founder of the Outstanding Care Awards, said:

“With so many excellent nominations it was a tough task for the judges to select the shortlist, as they are all passionate, dedicated individuals and groups. I am confident, however, that we have chosen some really deserving nominees, who really reflect the outstanding work being carried out across Devon and Cornwall.”

Nearly 100 individuals, groups and businesses have been shortlisted for the 20 categories. Finalists include individuals from Torbay Hospital, Bluebird Care and Love2Care, with the South West Ambulance Service and Rowcroft Hospice also nominated.

Matt Williams, Director at 3CP Training, nominated for the ‘Commitment to Training and Development & Service Provider of the Year’, said:

“We are truly honoured to be shortlisted for the finals and are proud to be part of a community that shows the quality of care we provide in the South West when people need it the most.”

Karen Dykes, Manager at Mount Olivet Nursing Home, commented:

“I feel honoured and humbled to have been shortlisted in the awards for Outstanding Care Home Manager. The awards are an amazing acknowledgement and celebration for all the great care and support being delivered throughout Devon and Cornwall.”

The awards ceremony is being held on 8th June at The Livermead House Hotel, Torquay. Tickets to the event, which will see winners awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold awards for their contributions to care, are sold out.
