BREAKING NEWS – Flybe Autumn Budget Response

FLYBE DISAPPOINTMENT THAT ‘DAMAGING’ AIR PASSENGER DUTY NOT LOWERED IN BUDGET

Flybe budget response:

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, is disappointed that the Chancellor has once again missed the opportunity to lower Air Passenger Duty. The UK’s APD is among the highest in the world and it is a highly damaging tax which penalises domestic travellers. Reducing APD and supporting domestic aviation would have been in line with the Government’s stated aim of spreading economic growth more evenly across the UK – this is sadly another missed opportunity to act.

Hi ref Exeter airport charges. My wife and I go to Spain or Greece for our holidays we thought the airport tax was to aid the environment, the airport tax charges from Exeter are so high there are not many holidays from Exeter in our price range so we have to drive our car 80 miles north to Bristol airport then fly over our house heading south to our destination, on return we fly back over our house heading north to Bristol then get back in our car and drive another 80miles south to our home surely this is not helping the environment, we would much prefer to fly from our local airport and all live happily ever after.
