Young Entrepreneur Wins Miss Devon and Will Compete in Miss Great Britain Final
Young, Exeter-based entrepreneur, Clara George, has won the Miss Devon title and will compete in the Miss Great Britain final in Leicester in September.
Clara, 22, who is a lifestyle blogger and social media consultant, won the award following an interview process and assessment of her modelling portfolio. Clara will now be representing Devon in the UK’s oldest pageant, which was founded in 1945.
Apart from graduating from the University of Exeter and living in the city, Clara has family roots in Devon, and many of her family still live in the Torbay and Dartmoor areas of the county. Over recent years Clara has built up a reputation as a lifestyle blogger, documenting her adventures in fashion, beauty, food and travel, and gaining almost a quarter of a million followers across multiple social media platforms, both nationally and internationally.
She recently gave up full-time employment to concentrate on running her blog, building her business and preparing for the Miss Great Britain Final. She will be providing regular updates on her preparation for, and progress at, the Miss Great Britain final on 13th and 14th September.
“During my year as Miss Devon I pledge to act as a good female role model, promote what’s great about Devon and its community and support local and national charities by raising awareness of the work they do”, COMMENTED CLARA. “I am extremely proud to be Miss Devon this year and am looking forward to representing the county in Leicester this September.”
As part of her pledge to support charities, Clara will be running a 10k in Devon in July to raise funds for the charity Brainstrust in memory of her uncle, who lost his life to a brain tumour.
Jemma Simmonds, Events and Operations Manager at Miss Great Britain said:
“Miss Great Britain’s ethos is to raise money for good causes, promote a healthy lifestyle and empower women. We are confident that Clara will be an excellent representative for Devon and we look forward to having her in this year’s final.”
