Flybe Updates: Potential weather disruption forecast – 27th February – 1st March 2018

Travel Advice: Potential weather disruption forecast – 27th February – 1st March 2018

Adverse weather has been forecast over the next few days with the potential to impact travel across large parts of the UK, and in such weather, airports may either close temporarily or restrict the number of arriving and departing flights. Flybe, like every airline, has itself minimum acceptable weather conditions in which we can safely operate. Please be assured that we will be doing our best to ensure that flights will operate as normal, taking into consideration any adverse weather conditions. The safety of our passengers and crew remains our number one priority at all times.

If you booked to fly with us between 27th February and 1st March 2018, please continue to check in as normal, and do regularly check our flight info page for any further updates. If you have connecting flights, you should also check the flight status for each of your individual flights.

YELLOW WARNING OF SNOW for the East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North East England, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber

Between 16:00 Mon 26th and 23:55 Mon 26th

Snow showers, already affecting eastern parts of England, are expected to become more persistent and heavier through late Monday afternoon and evening. There is the potential for travel delays on roads, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

AMBER WARNING OF SNOW for the Midlands and the north of England

Between 03:00 Tue 27th and 11:00 Tue 27th

Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures. The heaviest, most persistent snow looks likely to cross the area during the morning – the focus has been adjusted northwards to take into account latest ideas, removing Lincolnshire but adding more of Yorkshire and areas towards Manchester, Teesside, Durham and Newcastle. There is the likelihood of travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

AMBER WARNING OF SNOW for East of England, London, and South East England

Between 02:00 Tue 27th and 12:00 Tue 27th

Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures. This is an update to extend the warning further north into coastal Suffolk and a little further west across southeast England. There is the likelihood of travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

YELLOW WARNING OF SNOW for the Midlands, north of England, London & South East England, East of England, South West England, Wales, and most of Scotland

Between 00:05 Tue 27th and 23:55 Tue 27th

Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures. This update removes much of southwest England, which now looks less likely to be affected. There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

AMBER WARNING OF SNOW for Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, southern Scotland, and North East England

Between 06:00 Wed 28th and 12:00 Thu 1st

Frequent and heavy snow showers are expected on Wednesday and Thursday leading to some significant accumulations developing. Long delays and cancellations on bus, rail and air travel could occur. Roads may become blocked by deep snow, with many stranded vehicles and passengers. Communities might be cut off for several days. Long interruptions to power supplies and other services such as telephone and mobile phone networks, could occur.

YELLOW WARNING OF SNOW for Scotland, Northern Ireland, the north of England, East of England, London & South East England, the West Midlands, Wales, and South West England

Heavy snow showers are expected on Wednesday. There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become cut off. Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

AMBER WARNING OF SNOW for most of Scotland, and North East England

Between 06:00 Wed 28th and 12:00 Thu 1st

Frequent and heavy snow showers are expected on Wednesday and Thursday leading to some significant accumulations developing. Long delays and cancellations on bus, rail and air travel could occur. Roads may become blocked by deep snow, with many stranded vehicles and passengers. Communities might be cut off for several days. Long interruptions to power supplies and other services such as telephone and mobile phone networks, could occur.

YELLOW WARNING OF SNOW for most of Scotland, Northern Ireland, North East England, and Yorkshire & Humber

Further snow showers are expected on Thursday, accompanied by very low temperatures. There is the possibility of travel delays on roads, stranding some vehicles and passengers, and delays or cancellations to rail and air travel. Some rural communities could become or remain cut off. Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected.

YELLOW WARNING OF WIND & SNOW for East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North East England, West Midlands, and Yorkshire & Humber

Between 12:00 Thu 1st and 23:55 Thu 1st

There is potential for a spell of heavy snow, accompanied by strong winds, to move slowly north through Thursday afternoon and night. There is a small chance that long delays and cancellations on bus, rail and air travel could occur. There is a slight chance that roads may become blocked by deep snow, with stranded vehicles and passengers. There is a small chance that long interruptions to power supplies and other services such as telephones, may occur.
